A really nice Skyraider kit.
Everything fit very well w/ a typical amount of sanding & putty work. Details were nice inside & out. It came w/ a ton of rockets & bombs, & I think it's one of those planes that looks even better when it's "loaded for bear" Just plain mean looking, & kinda ugly without. Like the A-10 Warthog. I wouldn't be surprised if the A-10 was partially or fully inspired by the Skyraider. They both can deliver a huge payload of sorrow upon the enemy in a single pass. Sorry bout that, I digress.... back to the kit. The decals were still good on my kit but did give me some trouble due to age. I found a coat of "microscale" decal film over them before placement really helped a lot. That's microscale NOT microset. Time Machine.
Buying this kit was like buying a trip back in time. I felt like a kid again. It made me think of when my mother used to venture out on a raining Saturday to run errands and deliver lunch to my dad. We'd stop at Payless and I'd pick out a model to fill my Saturday while it was raining out. Can't wait to build this kit.
