Fantastic compact unit made in USA
At first, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of a solar charger. However, there was still good grass just waiting for our horses in a remote pasture that I could not easily get power for a conventional system. After some research, I reluctantly decided on this unit. I installed this to energize a 2.5 acre pasture with three hot poly ropes. I was pleasantly surprised to find the unit was at full charge and ready to go out of the box. It also puts out a very healthy charge, definetly more than I expected. Overall, this unit is compact, sealed well, made in the USA, and works great. No regrets here, great purchase. At first, I was skeptical about the effectiveness of a solar charger. Sent it Back to Parker McCrory for Servicing 4 years in a Row - Failed Again That's It
I purchased the Parker McCrory 25 mile solar fence charger at Lemon's tractor supply in Parkersburg, WV about 6 years ago. I only use it to protect a small garden that is 40 ft x 80 ft in the growing season and then store it inside in the winter. Nevertheless, it has failed nearly every season. I have sent it into the factory service 4 times at significant expense in freight and repair charges. I have two 8 ft. grounding rods in wet soil. The power unit just fails entirely. When I send it in Parker McCrory claims it has been hit by lightening. However, I have a lightening arrestor to ground and a surge suppressor in the power line to the fence. Today it failed for the 5th and last time. I went out and purchased a solar-powered Zareba rated for 10 miles. It was far less money than ... Not worth the money or the trouble.

Folks, this is the Ford F-150 of solar fence chargers. Constructed of a sealed electronics package housed in a heavy galvanized steel enclosure, this model is maintaining 7000 volts on my 1300ft of polywire fencing. I no longer struggle with 4 Great Pyreneese who would get bored and wiggle under my goat fencing. What a relief to no longer get calls from neighbors, “your dogs and goats are loose again...” I can’t adequately express how proud I am of this product.
