very similar to O.E.M. master cylinder. differences are: secured to handlebar with small bolts, instead of counter-sunk Phillips screws, different brake handle than original, (just use your old handle), has provision for brake light switch, (you can remove), brake handle screw does not screw into master cylinder, but has a separate nut to secure it to the bottom, and has a threaded boss for mounting mirror (O.E.M. is not tapped, just has blank boss). other than these differences, worked fine.
