Mako pistol scope mount
I mounted this on my M&P 40 cal, the mount looked great the machining and finish were very nice. It fit low and close like it was made for it. Only complaint was the set screw didn't set low enough to hold tight between the slots in the picitainy rail and had to add a small piece of tubing to the set screw to grip into the slot and keep it from walking off the end. Otherwise held tight and kept a zero setting. Good on metal guns only
I tried this on my Glock and in order to secure it ,I had to tighten hard. I was not able to pull the slide back due to the flexing of the frame. When I just tighten snug the slide worked. I didn't feel comfortable with just snug. The polymer guns will flex with very little pressure. I installed it on my Sig 220 alloyed frame and I was able to tighten hard and still have the slide work . Universal fit so so, I had to do some shaving inside the mount to clear the Sig slide. Overall with modification the mount works.I tried this on my Glock and in order to secure it ,I had to tighten hard. I was not able to pull the slide back due to the flexing of the frame. Bad picatinny connection
I'll get straight to it. The product is well made(solid aluminum) but the single bolt /clamp style attachment configuration does not allow a tight connection to a picatinny/weaver rail. When installed, the the mount moves up and down no matter how much you tighten the single bolt. The bottom of the mount needs to be cut the length of the mounting base and a second bolt added...or redesign the mounting configuration completely. As a result any red dot sight /scope mounted to the firearm moves after each shot from the recoil and does not stay on target to the initial bore sighting.....don't buy. I'll get straight to it. Needs some adjusting!
This mount did fit my GSG 22LR Firefly, but could not tighten screw so there was no up and down movement. When screw was tightened all the way it bound up the slide and the action would not work because of the composite frame. With some of my own modifications I did get it tight and action started working. I do not recommend this item for the pistol I described above, I do not know about other pistols with composite frames if it will do the same thing but not with mine.
