About this product

Product Information

Seven friends, fresh out of Georgetown University, cope with the fears and realities of adulthood while drinking at their favorite hangout, St. Elmo's. Alex (Judd Nelson) and Leslie (Ally Sheedy) are career-minded and heading towards marriage. Virginal Wendy (Mare Winningham) only has eyes for wild, would-be rocker Billy (Rob Lowe)--whose wife and child don't prevent him from trying to relive his college days. Kevin (Andrew McCarthy) ponders the meaning of life and secretly desires Leslie, while his roommate Kirbo (Estevez) pursues an elusive older woman (Andie McDowell). Jules (Demi Moore) rounds out the group with her massive debts and cocaine problem. Joel Schumacher's twentysomething ensemble piece stands, for better or worse, as a revealing peek into the popular cinema--and values--of the 1980s. The film also represented a graduation of sorts, as Estevez, Sheedy, and Nelson portrayed high school students in John Hughes's THE BREAKFAST CLUB earlier in 1985.

Good transaction and communication. Packaged very securely. Seller has a lot of volume and ships as stated in listing, but the volume means that batches are spaced out. Item came as and when stated in listed.

  • Dated Brat Pack Movie

Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Mare Winningham, Andrew McCarthy, and Andie McDowell headline this brat pack movie about kids fresh out of college who return home and try to cope with life. Ally and Judd's characters are contemplating marriage although Judd continuously cheats on her, while Andrew McCarthy secretly has a love for Ally. Demi Moore's character is in a world of hurt financially and is hooked on coke. Emilio Estevez tries courting the older Andie McDowell, and Mare Winningham is a virgin who is in love with the bad boy Rob Lowe, who is already married with a child (it's working out terribly) but is trying to live the Rock and Roll dream as a saxophone player in a rock band-don't see that too often (kind of corny, every time he's shown playing ...

  • Quintessential Movie of the 1980's

In 1985 I was 20 and the "Brat Pack" were capturing the 1980's for my generation in film. Like many of the Brat Pack movies most all where coming of age dramas and comedies, many in a High School setting. Many were written and directed by the late John W. Hughes Jr. and credit is due to him for his efforts. However, director Joel Schumacher wrote and directed the quintessential Brat Pack coming-of-age film focusing on seven friends and their journey out of college and gravitating towards the realities of adult life. For me personally the "Love Theme to St. Elmo's Fire" written and performed by David Foster captures the emotion of not only the drama and tenderness of the central characters, but the 1980's itself. A masterpiece. There has been some discussions about a St. Elmo's Fire ...

  • St Elmo's 🔥 Fire is a winner!!

St Elmo's fire is a great movie to watch about young adult. Their struggles and certainly their triumphs are ingaging and the film keeps my interest! Most of the film's today can be dry as dust but many standards. St Elmo's 🔥 Fire is very entertaining and the characters are realistic!!!

  • Exellent, but even more interesting then before.

Durring this movie, we get to see a character smoking a cig in the hospital. And nobody says a word. I remember back then you could still smoke anywhere in the mid 80's. Another intesting twist in the movie is when we see another one of the characters, go stalker. Dude, I was like. Wow. This movie really did capture how loose we was as a society back in the 80's. We was nuts back then folks. And this movie was as good back then as it is today. Just weird to compare our thinking back then, to now. I can't believe how much these last 25 years have changed us.
