This is a decent side deflector kit for an earthway C22 or 24HD, or H2150 H2170. Two bolts and two screws is all that is needed to install it. Literally less than 5 mins, or roughly the same amount of time it takes to unpack the contents from the box and bags. I have not yet had a chance to use it, and plan to use for spreading grass seed, fertilizer and top dressing materials in narrow areas or next to landscaping or flower beds. The kit is EXTREMELY pricey for what you get, but it appears that it will function well. Each of the deflectors is all poly, and uses a friction device on the hinge to hold it rotationally in the position that the operator manually leaves it in I nice to have would be to adjust each of the side deflectors remotely. And, you would think for this kind of money, that would be part of the kit. I may attempt to add that feature on my own in the future. Even though it was pricey, it was still cheaper than buying the next level up spreader, 2170Pro with the even spread pro dual shutoff system. That system is neater in execution, but still lacks the remote activation. The operator still has the reach under the spreader to make an adjustment, so might as well just lean to the side and quickly flip of the deflector on this kit.Read full review

Solid unit, and has a large broadcast area. Took a bit to get used to coverage area. I used to own an EdgeGuard which while a complete piece of junk it was very good at controlling what was broadcast off to the side when using the EdgeGuard feature. The Earthway I purchase with the Guard flaps, and they do block side broadcast a bit but really no comparison to the EdgeGuard. While I like the unit, I think Earthway could come up with a much better edge blocking system.
