Works with Craftsman 917.271131 42" mower from March 2000
Rec'd part number 592866501, which fits my ancient Craftsman 42" model 917.271131 from early 2000. The way it attaches may have changed slightly along the top of the chute, but it's no biggie. I removed the original deflector and modified the bracket with a post to make a 3rd lashing point for the new chute. Works GREAT. Note that you will need separate hardware to strap this to your deck. You can use your existing straps if you have them, else they're easy to find. Craftsman Tractor Chute
This hard-to-find lower chute for a 6-yr old Craftsman tractor grass catcher turned out to be a perfect fit. The shipping was much quicker than what was advertised; that was a plus. The unit was a little pricey for just being a piece of plastic...but it’s an important piece of plastic that completes the rest of the assembly, without which it wouldn’t work.

Chute Fit
Fit Craftsman 917 series mower deck discharge opening. Chute discharge tube is smaller than the Craftsman 42 - 46 inch Universal Bagger sold by Lowes. Had to fit, cut, and tape together to achieve satisfactory results.
