I've been reading some fairly technical books about evolution lately. A friend asked me to read Battle for the Beginning and stated that there is some science from the opposing viewpoint. Behe is one of the scientists who MacArthur quotes and uses for many of his ideas (MacArthur is a preacher). Several of my previous books have stated that Behe is not to be believed regarding his interpretation of the laws of thermodynamics and his theories have been debunked by numerous scientific journals, papers, and books. This book uses many scriptural passages as the "logic" behind an attempt to debunk the evidence of evolution. MacArthur sees the bible as a literal interpretation of the creation of the world but changes his mind quickly when the bible says, "On the 7th day, God rested." He goes on to say that it didn't actually mean that God had to rest.Read full review
Dr. MacArthur does an outstanding job of explaining how our universe and world came into existence. He explains the lies of evolution and an old earth. The Bible explains how a Holy God created everything and this book gives an excellent commentary of how it occurred. GEA
