    Rather inconvenient, enclosure arrived DOA. There were multiple defects on this enclosure: - Drive rattles inside. - USB port was disfigured and had broken traces. - Plastic clips did not align with screws on sides. - SATA port was bent slightly, traces not broken. - Not recognized in Windows. I could not wait for a new enclosure to arrive, as this was a time-sensitive job. I pulled out my soldering iron and hot glue gun and fixed all the issues with this enclosure, now it runs perfectly fine.

    USB 3 2.5" SATA enclosure

    Aluminum case with plastic front and back inserts. The "Y" adapter cable uses standard USB male connectors on both ends with an extra (thinner wire) USB connector for additional current if needed (don't use this connector for data), The cable is slightly thicker than normal and the one that came with my case was actually color matched to the female USB connector in the case. To achieve the best speeds BOTH the USB port on the computer and the 2 1/2" SATA drive need to be USB 3 !
