Good Product, Not suited For All Applications
I'm new to the world of AI. I needed a tank to hold some straws of semen from one of our bulls. This tank looked like it would be a good fit. However, the straws of semen that we have are packaged in canes of ten. The canes are about twice as high as the canisters that come with this tank, so they lean in the canisters.The plug also will not seat all of the way because the canes are so tall that they interfear with the plug. This is a well made tank, easy to transport and at a reasonable price. Probably better suited for individual straws of semen from smaller livestock. Don't buy for bull semen.
This tank has very short canisters. One can of bull semen with two tubes/ 5 units each, he is too short. It is so short that you have the potential 2 knock the tall cane of semen off and into the bottom of the tank. We had to cut the cane in half. 5 units / cane. Then transferring into a regular size tank became a problem because of the tall canister and the short cane. Just saying... be aware.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Dewar leaked and could not hold a full vacuum.
This dewar did not have a full vacuum, and the first time I put in 2-3 liters of liquid nitrogen, it completely boiled off in less than six hours. The unit has a plug with two O-rings, which is "sealed" with an ointment-like substance that is obviously not able to stop a leak. If it were sealed with 100% silicone caulk, it may have held a full vacuum.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
