Incredibly imaginative and engaging
This is an incredible show. It's very buoyant and funny but also deeply incisive with excellent character developments and story arcs. Many believe that David is the best Doctor Who ever and I find him second only to Matt Smith. The production values are quite high but they never overpower the story. It's not overproduced and it could fall into that very easily. What I also like is that it's actually a very smart show. Not in an exclusive way but in a way that you get even more pleasure out of the jokes and references the more expansive your knowledge is. It just adds another layer to the wit and wonder of the show. I started watching not knowing what to expect and I'm hooked. The more you can lend your suspension of disbelief to the action the more you will like this show. The collection ... This is an incredible show. It's rather simple in that the DVDs are held in pockets of a sort of book of the show. It's pretty easy to get them in and out of the pockets and the plastic sheath that goes over the book is a nice protector. The quality of the DVDs is excellent they were not shooting in a high definition until Matt Smith's season started so these are not high definition but still, they are remarkably clear and vibrant and it's if nothing else a colorful show. The only thing better than this collection is the Dr. Who Matt Smith years collection on Blu-ray. The long and short is this is a great series. There's a reason it's been on for over fifty years, and the reboot this collection is a part of is an incredible improvement over the earlier years. I would highly recommend this collection, and you might want to get it soon as I believe it's out of print so the price will only rise. Thanks for reading this. Hold the good thought.

Amazing amount of detail in both the packaging of the series, (the "book" of dvd's is simply gorrrr-juss!); and the individual discs in the way of "extras". It's also a nice touch that all the "tv specials" are included here, including all the "DrWho Confidentials".
