Leupold CDS
In having a Leupold VX3 3.5-10X50 CDS that is being mounted on a custom Mauser .338 Win Mag and having a #5 Shilen barrel spun on it...these scope covers work great! After I built this rifle...I planned on using this as a medium caliber rifle that would and could be used anywhere in North America. But after installing the stock and using "medium" high mounts from Leupold...the scope sat too low on the action touching the barrel. After installing the "extra high" mounts the scope fit perfect...even after squaring up the rings! Then I noticed that the space between the bottom of the scope and the barrel was extremely tight! Regular scope covers...i.e. Butler Creek would not have fit. So I went with the Leupold! Not only designed for the scope...obliviously...but there is no over-hang from the covers touching the rifle! When you receive these, the first thing that jumps out is the quality. Precision machine work is excellent as expected from leupold. Installed on a mark4 6.5-20x50mm LRT Installation is simple, contrary to other reviews, you don't need to remove the scope. These caps have a live swivel that allows it to be screwed on while holding the lid stationary. Lids stay securely closed until the button is pushed. The price may seem high, but trust me , once you receive them you will be impressed. Huge upgrade from the butler creek plastic. These flip-up scope covers are a bit pricey, but when you see the quality and detail that goes into them, you soon realize that you get what you pay for. Love the caps!
I’ve used butler creek caps on my older Leupold scopes since 1993. They work great, but don’t look as polished as the Leupold caps. Also the magnetic latches make for an easy and quiet opening. Well worth the money if you can afford them.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
