      It's on Fire!

      I have a bunch of Digital8 and Hi8 tapes that I needed to store on my computer because I have been concerned that the physical tape will eventually deteriorate. My computer only has USB 2,0 and 3.0 ports but my camcorder only has a firewire port and composite output. Using the composite outputs would greatly reduce the quality of the data, but using firewire, not one bit would be lost. I opened my computer and saw that it had a couple of empty PCI-E slots so all I needed was a card to fill a slot. This PCI-E controller card was priced right and was immediately recognized by my Windows 10 computer. No extra software or drivers were needed. I ran a quick test using Movie Maker, which recognized my camcorder, and easily was able to download the digital data to the hard drive. This is a great ...

      Plug and Play on Windows 10

      Card arrived quickly but the mailer did not protect the metal tab on the card to be bent. Fixing the bent tab was easy. Biggest concern is the card came with no documentation or software, and the circuit board is not well mark. That being said, the card works as plug and play on Windows 10. Not sure how it would work with other operating systems.

      Awesome card for running older firewire devices on new machines

      this is exactly what i needed. tried some usb adapters but they dont work. just get this if you have a pc tower with open pcie ports. windows 10 recognized it instantly and it works perfectly.
