Great player, v.good remote, limited as a streaming device
Bought this as a refurb to pair with my 2020 LG OLED. They work great together, HDR, 4K and Audio are outstanding, and they talk to each other over the HDMI for the remote control and negotiating best sound and visual playback. For whatever reason, they did not give it a robust ability to stream, but that is moot as I've a ROKU and the new TV has all that built in - so I was primarily interested in this as 4k HDR Blu Ray and audio source. It would be nice if the remote were back-lit, and the buttons on the front of the device chromed, as they are nearly impossible to see in a darkened room. Happy with the refurb, came in secondary packaging, but it appears to be new - no wear or dust on it and everything seems to work fine. No batteries or HDMI cable (as expected according to listing). Showed up a day earlier than promised. I've also a Samsung 4k (wimpy remote) and a 1 year old Sony 700 which still plays DVD but for some reason has suddenly failed to play blu rays. They are also mediocre streaming device. Prefer the Sony's remote slightly, but this LGs is also very good, and as the TV remote works it very well, the point is moot.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Has the Basics for a 4K player but no extras and falls short on ergonmic choices.
This player play sBlurays ok, but other features let the unit down. Streaming support only has Netflix and Youtube, you can't add any other streaming services. No installable apps, you may need a streaming box as well as this box if your TV can't stream apps well enough). I don't like lights on the front on my platers (especially when off), the player has green LED that is on when powered on and a red LED when powered off, no menu option to shut them off (I am putting electrical tap on the front to block them). If you just want to play disks on an LG TV this is OK, if you want a streaming interface and disk player stay away.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Does things other UHD players won't
Love this product. It does things other UHD players won't (e.g. play 4K HDR MKV files from USB and disk -- but won't play Atmos that way, but neither will the Oppo). This model (LG-UBKM9) has two HDMI-out ports, vital if you have an older audio receiver that won't pass 4K video, and a feature that is unfortunately being discontinued in newer model UHD players.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Recently bought this dvd player as i have an LG 3D smart tv. My old dvd player does not work in a 4k or 3d version format anymore. Plays 4K great, but remember to reboot & replug everything.
Had to unplug the 4K HDMI cable from the Samsung 4k TV, power everything off, restart everything and then plug in the HDMI CABLE back on the TV and all the stuff finally figured out what was supposed to happen. My Blade Runner 4K Blu-Ray then played fine. The Roku Box figured stuff out better but the price was unbeatable so I'm very satisfied.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
