Well worth the price
This is a fantastic all around lens. You can go from great portraits to incredible zoom shots in a second. It sure beat switching lens all the time like I was before when I mainly used my 18-55mm for general shots then frantically try to switch to my nikon f4 zoom. Reasonable Performance and Very Good Value
Assorted reviews of this lens relate differing views regarding its sharpness. This one seems to be reasonmabnly sharp, clearly more so in the centre of the image, (as expected), but there was not a sharp drop-off of corner sharpness as some reviews reported. I suspect the negative reviews were simply less-optimal-units; such things do happen. Frankly, given that this lens is to be used as a general purpose travel lens AND it is being used on an APS-C sensor camera, it is not critical that the sharpness match my full-frame DSLR or scanned 120-roll film images. It is a more-than-reasonable substitution for the equivalent Nikon 18-300mm lens which IO simiply could not find at a price even clopse to the Tamron. The downside? At the extreme telephoto end, in dimmer light, the autofocus hunts a bit, a situation easily satisfied b y either switching to manual or backing off the zoom setting a bit at which point the autofocus is correct, and then locking the focus. I note it functions better when used on a Nikon D750 than through a Fringer autofocus lens converter on my Fuji X-E2, but still the performance on the Fuji is satisfactory.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Fun lens and versatile!
Just love this lens. Especially since it takes nice close ups and distance photos all in one lens. I use this with my Nikon D7100. The lens is light weight. It's nice to not have to change lens. I do a lot of flower photography.
