    Open fast with a thud

    I received the damper and it works but it does not work as expected. When you open the tailgate the damper does not open slowly as expected but fast and it slows down at the nearly open position with a thud. It opens fast and hits with a thud instead of slowly opening. If you let go when opening it will hit your hand if you do not move out of the way quick enough. Still works but not like the OEM I have had on my previous trucks.

    Fit up and quality is good. Easy to install. It does keep the tailgate from just slamming down, but if you're looking for a slow descent, this might not be the one for you. Overall, it does what it is supposed to do.
