This Intel Core i7 processor has a clock speed of 2.0 GHz with a turbo clock speed of 3.2 GHz, and it can be over-clocked for enhanced speed performance. The Intel Smart Cache memory capacity of this quad-core processor is 8 MB. It has two memory channels, which provide up to 8 GB of maximum memory storage and up to 21 GBps of memory bandwidth. There is one PCI expansion slot available with the Intel 920XM. This Intel Core i7 processor can function at a temperature of up to 212 degrees F without overheating or slowing down. The maximum manufacturing process attainable with this quad-core processor is 45 nm. It also offers a maximum TDP of 55 watts and a maximum bus ratio of 15.This Intel Core i7 processor provides advanced enhancement features such as Intel 64, SpeedStep, Execute Disable Bit, Idle States, and Thermal Monitoring technologies, as well as Turbo Boost, Hyper-Threading, and virtualization technologies.

    Extremely satisfied

    This processor is one of my favorites for the 1st generation i7 chipsets. Works extremely well and I have had no problems since I gotten it. Pros: Is unlocked Runs @ 2ghz (3.2ghz turbo) 8 mb cache & 4 cores Better performance per dollar (compared to 940xm) Cons: 55w Gets hot fast (compared to a i7 840qm and below) I personally love this CPU it is by far my favorite 1st generation i7 cpu. Its less expensive then the 940xm with similar performance, but does more then a 840qm. The only thing you have to make sure with the XM series i7's is that they are properly cooled and that they have enough power and you should be good. Love it :D

    Good CPU for use with external video card.

    I purchased this for a Vostro all-in-one, and unfortunately (my mistake) this particular CPU does not include built-in video. Booted fine, but no picture! I am unable to use it in my particular case.

    Do not believe HP!!!

    I installed a I7-920 extreme In my DV8-1100 Pavilion laptop and 16 GB of memory. All of which they said would not work === B.S. I have a 7 yr old laptop that is now faster that before... It plays all the games and software increases the speed.

    Great CPU

    Installed on Lenovo W510. Good thermal grease and superclean fan / radiator is required - this baby gives a lot of hot (90 C degrees). Easy to install if you have manual skills. If you don't - leave installation to more experienced people.
