    10 years item will shut down automatic from date on package ! MINE WAS 6 1/2 YEARS OLD ! 3 1/2 YEARS WILL STOP WORKING, NOT a good deal. unless freshly made. BATTERIES CORRODED. JUNK IN PACKAGE!

    Tried and true.

    The updated tech requires one less battery and expires in 3 more years - 10 years using two aaa's. Very satisfied replacing an identical unit that notified its expiration of 7 years at 6 years, 11 months, and 2 weeks. I guess the accuracy tells what we're getting is genuine quality stuff.
