The M is too small, and since the rubber is very thin and light it's good to have space for thick socks to keep my feet warm. You can purchase insulating liners for the bottom separately. The boys are light, flexible, great for walking long distances and hiking, great for travel. I have the tall ones already and I am excited to have these sorter ones for hot weather. I use them weekly doing biology in the field.
