The sci-fi shooter picks up where Halo 2 abruptly left off: The Covenant is continuing its plans to activate the Halo super-weapon and obliterate the galaxy; Earth is in utter disarray with only a few remnants of its armies intact; and the Flood grows stronger and more aggressive with each passing day. Your mission, as Master Chief, is to repel the Flood's advances, save Earth, and stop the Covenant -- no matter what the cost.<br><br>Halo 3 offers a solo campaign, cooperative play, and multiplayer action via Xbox Live, system link, or split-screen display. The cinematic storyline introduces new characters, weapons, and mission objectives, with the enemy AI offering distinct fighting styles, tactics, and even personalities, all while trying to rip your armored space suit into pieces. Familiar weapons such as the Needler have been upgraded and are joined with all-new armaments, including massive support weapons (such as a missile pod or turret) that switch the default perspective to a third-person view, chargeable lasers, and a gun that shoots out metal spikes. Players can also protect themselves with bubble shields, reach high places with portable gravity lifts, disrupt motion tracking with radar jammers, and more. <br><br>Vehicles are also a big part of the action, with redesigned favorites and new class types entering the fray, such as the speedy but fragile Mongoose. The matchmaking service introduced in Halo 2 will once again bring similarly skilled Xbox Live players together, albeit with more customization options and a new streamlined interface. Players can still enter multiple lobbies, veto certain maps or game types, and so forth, but now they can instantly form parties with people they've just met for future matches, watch videos of completed games to learn techniques of the top Halo players, view detailed stats and rankings updated in real time, and squelch certain voices from being broadcast to their headsets.

    Fantastic Game, Fantastic Price

    The entire halo series holds a special place in my heart, and halo 3 is no exception. This game alone brings back a ton of memories that I love to relive. I had a copy of the game already, but I never got the case when I previously bought the game on ebay back in 2007. So I went on the search for a case so that I could display it properly next to all of my other halo merchandise. Josev555 is selling the case, manual, poster, AND the original game for ONLY $10. This is an amazing deal, especially for any Halo fanatic. The disc plays well with little scratches and all of the inner material for the case is in great shape. I honestly was not expecting to find a deal like this on ebay, but I'm glad I did.

    My copies campaign didn't work at first,...

    My copies campaign didn't work at first, but with some fixes to the disc, I was able to get all the way to the start of mission 7 with all 6 previous missions playable and running well along with the rest of the game. 3 stars because of that requirement to spend time to make it playable, but yet the ability to fix it and get as far as I did.

    Bought this to replace my Halo 3 Legendary Edition game disk that had gone missing at some point over the last several years. Now my Halo 3 Legendary edition set is complete again! From a collector's perspective, the actual legendary edition case was black, not green. The insert cover also had some slight damage but it wasn't terrible. The manual, included, was in great shape! I'm gonna keep the manual and insert cover as spares and reuse my existing case, insert cover, and manual.

    Halo 3

    Along with 1 and 2 forms the best fps multiplayer trilogy in history, forget Black Ops. You can still play the multiplayer on Xbox Live, making this game the current best value put there as far as fps goes. Get it and enjoy the multiplayer while it lasts.
