Apparently in an attempt to increase profits Buffalo has replace their blu ray player with a Pioneer BDR-209M and stuck it into a Buffalo case. I've bought and returned two of these now because they are being misrepresented, If I wanted a Pioneer I would have bought one. Until Buffalo corrects this go with the ASUS 12X Blu-ray Burning Speed USB 2.0/USB 3.0 External Blu-ray Drive. t's a better burner for less money.

The $90 Buffalo MediaStation BDXL Portable Blu-ray Writer is the best for most people because it's fast and relatively quiet, and it has superior cable management and a useful LED indicator that tells you if you need to plug in the included Y-cable. It’s also one of the least expensive drives we tested, and it comes with a two-year warranty. The Buffalo wasn’t the fastest external drive we tested—that was our step-up pick, the Pioneer BDR-XD05—but it was the fastest one for less than $100. It has a USB 2.0 connection, but it’s $20 cheaper than the best USB 3.0 option and only slightly slower.
