Very small and light weight. I keep putting it down and then forgetting where I left it. I need a carrying case for it. There are many features to use, but I don't have access to them. The instruction booklet has such tiny print that I can't read the words. there must be an online instruction booklet!!!
To tell the truth this is my first digital camera I've ever bought! I was always using as a camera my smartphones, but of course they couldn't give me the quality and the speed of the real camera! IT has a powerful flash, and VERY HIGH QUALITY optical zoom! It also has a zoom in Video mode, but the only minus is that if you want to activate optical zoom in camcorder mode, you will have to turn off the sound recording in video. But this minus is nothing compared to the all other advantages which this camera will gave you! Definitely MUST HAVE camera! very happy with my purchase =)
I had a Fuji film camera (5X lens) the same size and the same megapixels but the Olympus had a longer and wider lens (12.5 lens) on it that would allow me to take pictures of big and wide items. I went out to the Smithsonian Air Museum in Dulles, Virginia. I had the Fuji and Fuji films cameras have excellent performance but the lens wasn't enough to capture all of an aircraft from the vantage points the museum allowed. I will be going to the Air Show at Andrews Air Force base unless sequestration cuts the show. There I will test the lens to the max. It should be a clear, sunny day with blue skies and i should get some great pictures of complete aircraft. I will be taking the Fuji as well. Both cameras are basically the same but the Olympus has a built in battery and the Fuji film uses batteries. When the Oylmpus is done, it's done unless you have a spare battery. The Fuji uses AA batteries so stopping off at the Dollar Store for batteries will be essential and the Fuji will be worry free. I haven't used the video on the Olympus but the Fuji is acceptable and better than your camera phone and the sound is great. Good Camera's are getting simpler and easier to use and these two have great easy menus. I use the Auto settings and turn the Flash on or off basically.Read full review
My camera I had before I purchased Olympus VR-320 14 MP Digital Camera with 12.5x Optical Zoom and 3" LCD I had for a good 5 plus years. It was really past time for an ungraded. My knowledge of camera features and operation is very basic. I don't know how to use manual controls. This camera is very easy to use (which is great for a point and shoot camera - I don't really want to have to take a lot of time fooling with one when I just want to take a quick shot) and the menu is laid out nicely. It's kind of fun just taking this camera out and taking a picture that you know will be good! A little smaller than I expect, but that makes it nice to keep in my purse. I never know when I want to catch a shot of my grand-kids doing something fun. The quality of the photos is beyond what I expect, really nice photos. The photos are really a pleasure to share with others. For the price of this camera and the quality of the photos is a really exceptional deal.Read full review
This camera is the perfect size to just slip in your pocket. The functions are many, 12x1 zoom is awesome, excellent low light without flash. and love the separate movie record button without having to change function settings. You might carry a spare battery if you use a lot of flash or shoot a lot of pictures.
