  • Extremely helpful for understanding adoption

The book covers the developmental and mental challenges that are unique to adopted children when they reach their teen years. Defines the difference between the "parental bonding" and the "genetic bonding" that adopted teens attempt to understand, and the role adoptive parents play in this unique task. Also discusses some of the emotional challenges unique to adopted teens as they seek to understand themselves and their identities. We found this to be a very helpful resource in assisting our child.
