Reviews
"Through her experimentation with form, Pringle attempts to engage with and interrogate the use of politically charged speech acts to appropriate agency and identity. By offering the semblance of pristine clauses, Pringle provocatively undermines the implicit logic of grammar, which she sees as a tendency toward master narrative, and the limitations it places upon thinking."-- Publishers Weekly
Synopsis
obscenity for the advancement of poetry is both manifesto and tragedy. It carves up the shallow misperceptions of being [queer; female; human; other] and exposes the viscera of perpetual becoming that is who we are and what we mean to each other-as individuals, as citizens, as bodies. Sardonic and sincere, obscenity questions your intentions-and your digressions-and hopes you do, too., obscenity for the advancement of poetry is both manifesto and tragedy. - 6***6 (73)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThis delivery was earliest date! Condition, value, quality - all as described. (My mistake was not requiring the publishing date to be 1958. This was 1977.) This IS a Viking Portable Library copy of Dante's Divine Comedy in English, translated by Laurence Binyon, but it is with a cover DIFFERENT from what was shown. The tracking number was listed as from "UPS", but should have been listed as from "USPS." Contact with this seller alleviated tracking issues. I recommend this seller! Thank you!
- p***a (186)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseI purchased two books from the same seller; both were accurately advertised in product write ups. Seller responded promptly and securely packaged both books for swift arrival. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this seller.
- h***5 (581)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseArrived 13 days after purchase. Digipak 3 CD came in brown paper packaging coated on the inside. Not much protection for cardboard digipack, somehow it arrived in near perfect condition. Could have used some bubble wrap /sturdy cardboard. Tracking gave no information. Messaged them & they assured me it was on it's way. Location reads Florida. They ship from all over / my package read Jamaica, NY. Got a 3 CD Deluxe Edition in GREAT CONDITION at BARGAIN PRICE ! Nervous ride/Happy ending 😀👍
