Released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Konami's original button-mashing arcade classic Track & Field, New International Track & Field lets DS gamers give the touch screens a workout in more than 20 athletic events. Players can sprint through the 100 meter dash, leap over the high jump, and fire the javelin with more than 15 popular characters from other Konami franchises such as Rumble Roses, Silent Hill, Castlevania, and Frogger. As players progress they can unlock new outfits, equipment, and animations for their characters, and the Voice Boost feature makes use of the DS microphone to let players boost their character's performance by literally cheering on the athletes. Solo players can compete in single events, tournaments, and "challenge events" that provide unique tests for each character, while online multiplayer options include four-player game sharing, tournaments, worldwide rankings, and downloadable content.

New International Track & Field Review
I'm and old school computer gamer from the "Summer Games" & "Winter Games" and "California Games" era. I loved setting new "World Records" on the computers (years before online gaming was a no brainer). I purchased "New International Track & Field" for the DS knowing I'll be able to participate in all those loved events, like Javelin, 100m dash, board diving and many many more. I really like it and I feel it's well worth the money. Instead of tiring you with a long review, here is a "Report Card: B+ Excels In: 24 different events (!) Graphically pleasing Lots of different characters Lots of Unlockables Control with Stylus OR keypad and Buttons ONLINE (wifi) gaming 1 Card needed for up to 4 players Online "WORLD RECORD" Keeping Sound design (for the most part) Replay value Needs to ... New international Track & Field for the Nintendo DS is fun and challenging. It's a re-make of the original Track & Field and Hyper Sports arcade games with more events. The controls are well integrated with the DS touch-screen so your not pressing buttons the entire time like you did with the original game. There are many events, characters and outfits to unlock. It's nice to be able to pick up a game like this and just jump right in and be challenged.New international Track & Field for the Nintendo DS is fun and challenging. Boring Game :( Dont waste your time!
I thought that it would be fun but I was sorely disappointed! It is boring and if you fail the event you have to start from the very beginning. It was a huge waste of money!
