    Original design appeared good; did not consider breakability of the latches

    Size was and still is useful. Small footprint on the counter for quick use. Lid and bowl easy to clean. Mistake with the design is how breakable the small section that slides into the latches in order to turn on the motor. When that chip of less than 1/2" breaks off, on both the front and back, the lid cannot be latched to operate the food processor. When I tried to turn it on after the last chip broke off, it took me a few minutes to realize what had happened. So then I went to EBAY to find someone who might have a intact lid to sell. And I found someone. The new lid works the way it is supposed to connect the lid and bowl to create a space for the motor to operate with th4e blade. Please pass this criticism to KitchenAid.

    Food chopper

    I am pleased with the product. It is durable, easy to clean and the smaller size if perfect for my small kitchen. The KitchenAid name has always meant quality to me. All of the "power tools" are KitchenAid.

    Great product, good price

    I bought this primarily for chopping small amounts of garlic after buying (and throwing away) a Proctor Silex mini food chopper. The KitchenAid was recommended by Cook's Country/America's Test Kitchen. It was worth every penny. It chopped up 5 cloves of garlic beautifully and cleaned up quickly. Everything has to be locked completely and correctly in place or it won't run, but that's not a bad thing. The cord storage compartment is a little tight, but that's pretty minor compared to how it runs. As with other processors, if you lean on the pulse button too long, you can puree stuff unintentionally, but if you're watching, you shouldn't have any trouble getting exactly the grind you want.

    A real workhorse..

    I bought this chopper to replace one just like it...they are great. I used the old one daily for years before I broke the blades on it. You just can't go wrong with KitchenAid products. They may cost a little more, but it is money well spent.
