This is Bobby's second CD and it basically more of the same crap. If you hated the first CD by this Southwest Mississippi piano player, you will hate this one also. Since his debut at the 2005 New Orleans Jazz Festival, he instantly achieved 'cult status' and was acclaimed nationally by Rolling Stone, the New York Times, Down Beat magazine, Living Blues magazine, and numerous radio stations and music critics. What's special about this new Bobby Loungw CD? 1. New songs never heard by the public 2. Bobby also sings some old Bessie Smith recordings 3. Brian Stoltz, guitarist for Bob Dylan, plays on the recording 4. Bobby looked really good during the recording. Here is what some crazed fan wrote after hearing a 'pre-release copy' '''The new material is as good as anything on the last, which says a mouthful. Most of the adjectives I would ordinarily employ to describe a talent such as this, fail me now - though Righteous keeps springing to mind! This cat is at a level few artists will ever achieve and I am not referencing garden variety rock stars or aging (copycat) blues men here, but rather artists like Fats Domino, Django Reinhardt, Dr. John and Fess.
