    Intel's sleeper Xeon performer

The high clock speed of 3.6Mhz works particularly in standard applications on last-generation Xeon based work stations. Four fast cores looks visibly much quicker nearly all the time than 6-core with the same Passmark rating. Warning, ensure your BIOS is up to date (Dell T3500). Add a good graphic card too, to get the most from this chip. It was $1600 new.

  • Stable, processor working well (Xeon X5482)

Easy to install, a good thermal conductor is not getting warm with fat too. But stronger, heat pipe refrigerator recommended.

  • Just Fine Transaction. Don't be like me.

I'm just going to assume this is a good CPU. I don't have a board to test it in, because I'm an idiot, and didn't realize my board only supports up to 136 watts, and this is a 150 watt CPU. That thing got HOT HOT HOT just trying to fire it up. Good thing I didn't go trying to Update My Microcodes, huh??? sigh.

  • outstanding chip

this the ultimate of socket 771..by another name..this chipp is the Intel QX9775. usually more expensive than the QX cause its a Zeon, and marketed toward commercial marktet..but they more common and more matched pairs still floating around should ya need two. put two of these in a ds5400xs board, pair them up with up to 4 680-690 series cards and you playing w/ the big boys... this chips ROCKS...they work hard..they Play harder. guaranteed no brainer. They can run long..designed to run cooler...and very overclockable. Its a older chip.. one of the first 45nm's and boards capable of exploiting them getting scarce. Get 'em while you can

  • Bad chip

Processor didn't work. It was the right part number my computer wouldn't boot.
