Item shipped with non-intel optics, which are not "officially" compatible. This results in inability to easily load drivers in Linux (look it up for yourself and see). Additionally, once I was able to find the workaround for the unsupported optics, 1 of 2 failed within 24 hours. Honestly, not worth the effort to request replacement, especially since it would also likely by non-intel, or I would have to ship the entire card back. Luckily, I had a spare FS optic sitting around, which work fine.

    Very fast controller

    I have been running this controller for some weeks now and is very satisfied with performance. Buy the extra fan if controller isn't installed in housing with high air flow. Why 4 stars: 1. Very good support for Linux OS. 2. Easy to install and configure. 3. Performance is as expected. 4. Firmware updates on regular basis. Why on 4 stars: 1. Need a housing with high air flow or extra fan 2. Extra fan is not in the package 3. Extra fan very noisy if not installed with speed/noise control.
