However, the tinfoil seal was wrinkled, with a tiny pin-prick hole in it, as result the paper seal on the screw-on cap was soaked in vinegar, --the interior of the shipping box smelled of vinegar. It is not clear to me how this might happen, but it doesn't ruin the product, nor its usage value in my mind. I am happy with the deal. Thanks.

Great quality sharpener.
It's very similar to what I used in drafting class some 50 years ago. Provides an extremely sharp point on 2mm leads. Only those with a very soft hand can use such sharp points without breaking the tip. Takes lots of practice and much patience but it's well worth the time in the finished product. You'll need a quality lead holder and controlled hands to achieve consistency but the fine lines are better then those delivered by a .5mm or even a .3mm. I did watch videos about this piece and it's everything like they were saying about it. It's lightweight, easy to use, of good quality, precise when you use it. Don't know about other brands, but this one is good so I won't bother testing other manufacturers' sharpeners.
