Perfect size and color. Thank you for your good packaging. It got to my city in Florida within two days. However my post office decided to send it to Massachusetts. By the time it got back here, the box was wet, but the bag was dry and beautiful. A++

HERE is how to make it LAST, and FIX your dead ones - DON'T throw them away

This is a great monitor, BUT as many have noted it won't handle much power without killing it. The reason for this is that the manufacturer used a fuse that is THERMAL as well as 15A rated, and the temp on the factory fuse is only about 100 degrees... so if it gets even the tiniest bit warm, it blows. SO... replace that fuse, with THIS ONE that is the same but rated @ 240 degrees, and you have a unit that will last. NEC-SEFUSE-Cutoffs-SF240E-Thermal-Fuse-240-C-15A-250V/151264741020 I did it a little easier than unsoldering the old fuse off the circuit board, partly because it will make it much easier to replace the fuse in the future should you ever need to - I simply cut the old fuse out, leaving the leads extending up from the PCB, and bent the leads on the new fuse to overlap the old ...

  • Top critical review

    Good, but could be better.

It does its job, but would be better with a rotatable plug and smaller footprint, as it blocks access to the second wall outlet; the bottom half of the Kill A Watt protrudes just enough that a regular plug can't fit into the 2nd open outlet. It also could use a backlit display, as it is difficult to see in shadowy/dark areas. This device also suffers from a lack of an internal backup battery, so in case of a power outage or accidental disconnection, all data is reset.

  • Useful Tool for Energy Savings

This is a very handy tool to have in the home and shop. Everyone in the world who is consuming electric power should have one! I have used it to find out how much energy my household devices and small appliances are consuming and also to do some basic troubleshooting. It displays line volts, line frequency, watts, amps, volt/amps, power factor, elapsed time and and kilowatt hours. My one complaint is that the display is not illuminated so is can be difficult to read. A backlight with a pushbutton switch would be a nice addition.

  • Power Meter

This is a “must have” for anyone who wants to monitor their energy usage. I connected it to every 120V device. Surprisingly, my 2 cable boxes were drawing about 20Watts total when idle - & the same when watching TV. I then connected the cable boxes to a power strip & now shut them off when not watching TV. Also my laptop was always ON - drawing about 37 watts of power. I now shut the computer down when not in use. Try it on your electric coffee pot & you will be amazed at the power consumption. I now shut the pot off after my 2nd cup & don’t leave it on like I used to. I’m slowly chipping away at my electric bill!

  • Love the Kill-A-Watt

Know your line voltage during brownouts, know your current draw at xmass, or when that pickup is plugged in during the winter. A 9000watt truck heater will add about 100$ a month to your electric bill if it's plugged in all month. Works great on plant lighting also
