Awesome phone! I've been addicted to it. It was a tremendous update from my G1. Hardware-wise, the Mytouch 4G is much faster than the G1, internal memory is more than enough for all the apps I want, and comes with a generous SD card for my music and videos. The front and back camera also added a lot of new uses for the phone. The phone feels sturdy and it doesn't get bulky even after a gel case. Touch screen is very responsive and screen size is generous. Speaker and headphone jack also make it great for listening to music while on the go. Software wise, Android has come a long way. I wasn't too dependent on data plans while on the G1, but this one makes data plans worthwhile. User interface is much more enjoyable than before while holding its speed. Swype has also made not having a physical keyboard bearable. I practically like this phone more than my laptop! I use it for just about everything, anywhere, at anytime. Only complaint, like most others have mentioned is battery life. With the right battery control apps, I'm averaging 24-36 hrs with moderate use. At least charging only takes 2 hours or so, and then its good for another day.Read full review
I had wanted a HTC inspire since they came out. A tech savvy friend was explaining the features of this phone vs the iphone. I finally wound up getting one. I realize that they are a little dated, but I love mine. The main reason I like them, is because they use a micro-sd card for memory. That allows you to put it in a different phone if you break your phone. The 8 mp camera takes great pictures (which you will still have if you break your phone, due to them being stored on the sd card). The fact that it doesn't have a front facing camera doesn't bother me because I'm not a "selfie" person. The operating system is quick enough for me. The gps and navigation is fantastic, and it has all the features I want plus some. The only real drawback is battery life. It lasts through a 12 hour shift at work, but not much more. Probably would last longer if I turned off bluetooth, wifi, and gps.Read full review
I love the fact that this phone can do just about everything a computer can do plus take pictures and video. The phone is very responsive and fast as swiping across screens is super easy and lag isn't seen. However, for the female consumhers the phone will look quite large and feel quite large in the hand. If the phone was a little slimmer, sort of like the Droid Incredible then i believe more female consumers can be reached. The captive buttons are also agitating as they can easily be pressed without trying to when swiping across the screen. I also dislike that there isn't a decication camera button and that that the front facing camera mirrors and would show words backwards. Last dislikeness of this phone would be that you have to reach way up to the top to put screen to sleep instead of being able choose one of the captive buttons at the bottom of the phone. All in the phone is a excellent device that works. I decided to buy the phone due to the fact that it has a 8mega pixil camera with flash and a front facing camera. i love taking pictures with a phone and being that this phone had such a large camera lens, i knew great pictures will come from this phone.Read full review
Honestly, I only have 2 issues with the HTC Inspire 4G..those being the lack of a front camera and the short battery life. The lack of a front facing camera takes away the ability to video chat with friends. This would've been nice but it definitely doesn't make me want to sell the phone. As for the low battery life if you are a moderate to heavy user, keeping a charger with you at all times is a must if you want to get through the day without your phone dying. To improve this, however, one could download advanced task killer from the Android Market..you could also root and download a custom rom to your phone which DEFINITELY helps with the battery life. Other than these issues, the phone is AMAZING. The huge screen is beautiful to look at, and the phone is aesthetically pleasing as a whole. The phone also has great processing powers and coupling that with all of the great Android Market apps makes this phone great. Can't forget about the great price too :)Read full review
I recently switched my household from iPhone 4 to HTC Inspire. The Android system has more features and functions than Apple, but the battery life is absolutely terrible. I have turned off everything except the mobile network, dimmed my screen down, and only use my phone for moderate texting. Even so, the brand new battery I bought only lasts 3 to 4 hours on most days. Same thing on my wife's phone. And thanks to the design of the battery door, there is no way to add an extended battery. I think the phone could also use a dedicated camera button. Overall, not counting battery life, the phone is an excellent piece of equipment.
