This has got to be one of the greatest bands of all time! I don't know what category I would place their music other than maybe just rock n roll or alternative rock probably. Whatever the genre, It's great! This is their first album so you can see how they have grown as a band when you hear their more recent music, But this is still one of the best albums I've heard! You don't have to be a teenager to love MCRs music! This is a GREAT album
