    When You Love Your Phone

    I’m so glad I was able to replace my VTech i5871 with another one on eBay!!! This particular brand is over 15 years old so I’m thrilled to still have and use it in my home! I LOVE THIS PHONE!!! The design is still relevant for me! And the price was just right as well!!!

    New i5871 arrived used and not working.

    Item advertised 'New' Unused - 1) The unit arrived and look ‘like-new’ but observed it had been used as there were call logs on both base unit and handset. Also voice messages were still on the answering machine. 2) The handset does not sync up with the base unit. It displays ‘Searching for base unit’ whenever attempt is made to draw dial tone. 3) Tested the base unit ‘Intercom’ button resulting in a display “Connection to Handsets Failed” I own a i5871 for 12+ years now which is a great cordless phone loaded with excellent features (which I still use but the handset has developed static during use). I’ve tried several attempts to get this "NEW / USED" i5871 to sync up with it’s base unit but with no luck.

    Awesome phone!

    Pros: Great phone , great features, easy to use. Sleek, stylish, very good sound clarity, color screen makes it very vibrant. Customization is great. It comes with a decent application that you can use to build your phone list on your computer and then upload it via USB to each of your phones (they don't sync with each other). Although it isn't the silver bullet of Outlook integration, it is a huge improvement over trying to key all of your contacts into the phone directly. Overall great phone.Satisfied buyer here:)

    Vtech i5871 Answering System

    Love the phone and answering machine. I did a lot of reviewing on consumer reports and of all the phones this had the best rating with all the functions I wanted. It works great only problem I have found is that the volume on the headset isn't as loud as I would like it to be sometimes when people are talking. I have tried to adjust it but doesn't seem to make a difference. Otherwise I like the phone and answering system. Only other problem we had with the expansion sets is that only 2 of the 6 would find the base. I contacted Vtech and they have requested I send the 4 units back that do not register. I have sent them back and am waiting for the new units to be returned. I'll let you know how the "honor" there items.

    The Vtech i5871 phone has lots of bells and whistles

    If you want a telephone with the latest "bells and whistles," the Vtech i5871 may be the ticket, as it embraces the latest technology of the cellular world in a very impressive home version. Albeit cordless technology is certainly not new, the i587 employs 5.8 GHz frequency and allows extension phones at any electrical connection without need of additional phone outlets. This latest Vtech model offers some pretty spiffy features, including sounds, pictures, and animations; perhaps the coolest is the capability to display full-color pictures of the person calling which can be downloaded from your computer.
