The Zeiss Touit 32 mm F/1.8 Aspherical MF AF Lens for Fujifilm features an innovative design that is simple to operate and creates brilliant, engaging pictures. The lens is compatible with autofocus, as well as all other camera functions. Manual or automatic, focusing is smooth, robust, and uncompromised. An anti-reflective coating prevents glare and gives you good image quality even in poor light. The nine-blade iris produces an almost circular aperture that improves the look of the unfocused areas of the picture. Cross-frame sharpness is very high, and chromatic aberration is negligible, in or out of focus. Even the look of the lens is unmistakable, with the lens hood smoothly integrated into the design.

Typical excellent zeiss product
Very well built tho bigger than comparable fuji lens, excellent sharpness and color rendition. ?Rubberized exterior which I find easy to grip, useful lens hood. More expensive than fuji when new, price differential about equalized now.

Excellent Sharpness, But Lacks Stabilization And F/Stops Not Firm Enough
Superb sharpness with the Fuji XE-1, but only shortcoming is the lack of Fuji supplying in-body stabilization a la the Lumix GX7, which I own and use with Olympus lenses having in-lens stabilization. As a result, the Zeiss lens with the XE-1 is limited pretty much to the same shutter speed limitation that one would have with a film camera using a normal (42-57mm) lens, perhaps 1/15th at ISO200? Slower speeds require at least a surface underneath, and certainly a tripod. Other shortcomings: f/stops are too easily moved off the aperture choice. The build quality of the Touit is very good thanks to a tightly assembled combination of (mostly) metal and plastic parts based on a metal mount. The physical length remains constant although there's an inner lens tube that moves during focusing. The Zeiss provides a dedicated aperture ring at the rear of the lens. Several users criticized that it turns too easily and as such also accidentally. We tend to agree here although there's no wobbling whatsoever. The focus ring is nicely rubberized and operates smoothly.
