    not so cheap projects , but a good read .

    this book when first published would have given a lot of good idea's for modelling something a bit different , which in my view is great . but , since publication a number of the projects have been released as ready to run loco's , and a number of the suppliers and items are no longer available easily , if at all and some that are , are at such high prices , you may as well wait and see if the ready to run market produces them in the years to come . the book is a brilliant idea in the first place , but sadly time and money have been quick to overtake it . i purchased both volumes second hand and would advise anyone to do the same , 14 years since being published [2022 now ] shows how things have come on and sadly you have little chance of completing any of the projects on the ...

    An informative book tha will encourage you to 'have-a-go'..

    A clear and informative book that shows you how to convert ready to run models into other classes or variations of the same loco.The main thing this tome gives you is the confidence and the ability to tackle your own mods and conversions or pehaps go even further with detailing an accuracy.This is an excelent book,(if a bit pricy)and well written.
