    Perfect fit, provided you've got the right part number

    Any 3.5" will mount into this caddy via four pins that fit into the drive's mounting screw holes. The plastic caddy is flexible enough to bend so the pins can be fitted into the holes. The caddy then slides into the drive bay in the computer and snaps into place. Buyer beware: Dell does not use the same caddies for all computers. Some may appear to be of similar design, but there are at least two different slide-and-snap designs with finger tabs, and more if you count other designs and caddies for 2.5" drives. I have computers with both caddies, and can confirm they are NOT interchangeable. The caddies are slightly different heights and use slide rails of slightly different sizes. They're so similar, though, that I don't know why Dell didn't just use the same caddy for a larger group of ...

    Works Perfectly

    It took me awhile to figure out how to put a hard drive in this caddy, but once I understood it is easy to swap in and out of drives. I used this for a second drive in my Dell used system which did not ship with a second caddy. It fits perfectly. I wish all hard drives were this easy to put in or take out.

    Only practical solution

    Bought a surplus Dell computer to control small CNC mill and needed a second hard drive installed. This is the only hard drive caddy that would work properly. By nature, these types of caddys are fragile, best to buy a backup for reserve. Well worth the cost.

    On these older Dell computers you can greatly improve the performance by adding a SSD and using a disk copy product to clone the original hard drive.

    5-star (with a small *)

    Works great with a regular hard drive. Super simple to use so it sure beats the old days of dropping screws and messing with drive alignment in a bay. *But is a little tight with the SATA connections using an SSD in an adapter. Still a 5-star though because I can't blame the designers of this caddy for that.
