No complaints here! Arrived later than advertised, but that was fine. Good communication by seller. 150-year old book actually arrived in better condition than I expected even though it was delivered inside a thin plastic envelope. For the sale price, I am a very happy customer. Thank you!

  • A No Holds, No Reservations Search for the Perfect Meal

Anthony Bourdain's A Cook's Tour is a well-written record of his travels around the world in his search for the perfect meal. All too conscious of the state of his aging knees after a working life standing at various restaurant stoves, and flush with the unexpected boon from his first book, Kitchen Confidential, he concludes he needs a bit more wind under his wings. Bourdain defines "perfect meal" not so much as the most upscale, chi-chi, three-star dining experience, but the ideal combination of food, atmosphere, and company. The story arc takes the reader to fishing villages in Vietnam, bars in Cambodia, and Tuareg camps in Morocco for roasted sheep's testicle. It serves up smoked fish and sauna in the frozen Russian countryside and the French Laundry in California's Napa Valley, ...

  • A Cook's Tour

Anthony Bourdain writes like he speaks on his tv show in this book. It is more a geography and adventure type script than a cook book. He tells you stories of the places he has visited and the experiences he's encountered with people and the different kinds of foods he was served in various faraway lands. He's other book,"Kitchen Confidential", is written in a more laid-back format than this book. If you like his show, this book will remind of that as you read each chapter until the end. Not a book to be read at one sitting only.
