Slow to ship, 16 days to receive. Negligent packing-a flattened USPS box taped at both ends with no internal padding-resulted in some damage during shipping. It was hard to tell if the description was accurate due to the poor packaging. The seller offered a return but no return shipping and the kids were still satisfied, so I decided to keep the item. Might want to pass on this seller given this and their other questionable feedback. I wish I had.

I was kind of skeptical about ordering this product. I didn't know there was a way to convert a desktop computer into a wireless device. I'm so glad I took my chances & ordered it. This is a very practical adapter for both laptop and desktops due to its size. Yet the size belies its capability: it works better than my much larger (and older) Buffalo USB 802.11g adapter in terms of reception (not to belittle Buffalo brand as they do make great products, but to demonstrate how much technology has progressed by using a reputable brand for comparison). With adapters like these, good reception usually translates into faster speeds, a factor that seems to matter more than anything else. I am still trying to confirm but this is probably based on the very good and proven Realtek family of wireless chipsets, which along with strong compatibility and instant install over windows 7, also demonstrates an exceptionally good reception and high reliability. All of those qualities ... This is a very practical adapter for both laptop and desktops due to its size. All of those qualities are evident in this adapter. The size also suggest that it is a 1T2R design--one antenna for transmission and 2 to receive (1T1R will be even smaller, and 2T2R is much larger). The design is minimalist and the Belkin name gives you confidence over its support. It came in the sensible Amazon Frustration Free package with an installation CD (never needed it) and a printed manual. I used it on my laptop for 802.11n over the past three weeks and it has been nothing but solid. For wireless adapters, dependability and reception are probably the most important. This delivers, in a beguilingly small package. Update: this unit does indeed have the Realtek RTL8192CU chipset, which is from the latest generation of the venerable RTL819x series, and offers 2T2R MIMO capability (surprising in such a small package). This also means official Linux and OSX support as drivers are readily available from Realtek's website, and even better transmission performance.

Great product at a great price.
Very good product. Very competitively priced. I ordered this one to relace an identical item because the receiver/dongle was misplaced during a recent move. I did buy one at staples, but it cost me almost fifty dollars and really isn't any better. The Belkin unit is very good, and the Belkin line of products are high quality a affordably priced..

exactly what it claims, a SOLID wifi modem. Unlike the factory modems in the laptop/PC that are built for and around an ever changing O/S(Win 8 going to 10 and HP comes to mind) this continues to deliver at or near peak regardless of my O/S (MIN XP/Vsita & various Linux and BSD iterations)
