This Western Digital Caviar Blue drive has a 3.5-inch form factor and a PATA interface. The storage capacity of this internal 160 GB hard drive is sufficient to hold 40,000 digital photos or MP3 files, making it well suited for use in family computers. By employing shock resistant technology that prevents bumps or vibrations from causing the recording head to touch the disc platter, Western Digital Caviar Blue drives suffer less media wear for longer life and less chance of data loss. In addition, this Western Digital hard drive combines a fast, 7,200 RPM motor speed with an 8 MB buffer and is great for consumers seeking fast response with low noise and low power consumption.

    Excellent hard drive size for Home Computer

    Good quality, excellent company. This is a perfect sized hard drive if you're putting together units to sell. Just the right size. Not too large, not too small. But for people who download music and film, I suggest you install a 320gb. Otherwise, perfect for any user.

    Good product, works well

    This is the third time I have purchased this particular hard drive. The first two worked out perfectly because that was the only thing wrong with those computers. The most recent purchase probably would have been perfect also were it not for the fact that that computer needs a new power supply and possibly a new motherboard, as well. Overall, I would recommend this hard drive.

    WD is a super product, recommend to ALL. Value for the $$$.

    Purchased as a replacement for a older Dell system, faster RPM, 7200 vs 5400. Larger capacity than unit supplied with system. I only purchase the Western Digital or Seagate HD's. I have excellent service and ware life with this HD. Have been using and installing the WD for 20 years. Great endurance HD.

    Decent price, decent product

    It's getting hard to find IDE/PATA Hard drives at reasonable prices. I still have a couple of dinosaurs with IDE/PATA connections only. This machine is for my son, who is disabled. He doesn't have the motor abilitiess to do serious gaming but still wants to be on the computer. It is definitely a good enough tool for homework and internet surfing. He has a "Big Key" keyboard that he can use more easily than a standard M/S keyboard. It serves its purpose.

    Western digital makes a good hard drive.

    I needed a new hard drive that worked in an older computer so I did some research and found that the wd1600 would work so I found it on Ebay. It works great and has been doing what I needed. It has a very quick response and works very quietly. I am pleased with the Western Digital hard drive.
