I am an armed security officer and I bought this durable 6-D cell flashlight because it's heavy, which is a positive feature - not a negative one - for me. It's very bright, and it has a dual purpose - as it can be utilized as a baton or nightstick. Maglite is a proven and trusted name in flashlights, so this purchase was a no-brainer for me. I carry it when I am on duty and it isn't cumbersome at all. I weigh 250 pounds, so I don't feel the weight of this bad boy as it hangs from my hip. The maglite brand is well known, respected and it shows when you buy your first one and get butterflies as you open the pack, throw 6 D cell batteries in and hold it for the first time. Yes you can break bones when you hit someone with it not a problem, I'm sure if you swing a 6 D cell maglite into the side of someone's skull real hard you may very well kill them. But let's not forget the maglite for all legal purposes is a torch.The maglite brand is well known, respected and it shows when you buy your first one and get butterflies as you open the pack, throw 6 D cell batteries in and hold it for the first time.
