    They don't make 'em like they used to - smooth and sweet operating calculator!

    HP 48 SX/DX calculators are the absolute best ever produced. The newer HP50 series has a much more cumbersome - cheesier - keyboard. I've compared going from the legacy calculators to the new ones as transitioning from a Lamborghini to a Yugo - the user interface on the older units is that much better. This particular unit is from the very earliest days of the 48SX - to the point that it was actually made in the USA (how long has it been since any consumer electronics were USA made?). The unit looks and works like it came from the factory this morning! Truly, they don't make 'em like this anymore!

    Great calculator, piece of history

    This is a very powerful calculator, I recommend working through the owner's manual to see how the programmability, equation solving, and graphing are done and how flexible the tools are. Although the 48G (and G+ and GX) are faster, this is a nice little machine.

    not all buttons are functional.

    I've found 3 buttons that do not function. I'm in the process of returning it. It is a good calculator when working. Mine did not out of the box.
