    Great razor, wasteful packaging.

    The Philips Norelco 9850 Shaver is another winner in a long line of great electric razors. The new head is a 5 in cutting quality, smooth, quick and no roughness. The razor itself is a 4.5 because I miss the in razor trimmer of my previous model. This model you have to pop off the head and pop on the trimmer. And sadly the overall rating is a 4 only because the HUGE box that it is packaged in is so wasteful. We all live and share this planet and need to be very mindful of the staggering waste we produce daily. Shame on Philips for not packaging this wonderful razor in a much smaller box.

    Not designed well

    They removed the build-in trimmer and now one have to replace the entire head with the trimmer to use it. Makes it useless for quick job. The head is fixed on a flimsy pole. When the skin is a bit moist and have some friction it simply pops out of base. Happens very often and makes it very difficult to use. The quality of shave is ok after you tackle the popping out header. But for delicate skin is not smooth. The skin burns after the shave like never before. I have been using Philishavers for the last 25 years, this one is disapoinng. I would like to return but I do not see the option to return.

    Excellent Item

    This shaver head is super. Bought charger because I wanted to make sure it was right one since my old shaver is quite old. Purchased new head and accessories on E Bay and got a $170 no box shaver for about $110. All genuine Norelco, no after market stuff.

    Great shave!

    Use it in the shower with Lectric Shave on my face and a small shower mirror suction cupped to the shower wall. Very close shave without nicks. I use the shower head on a power washer to “pressure wash” the blades after each use. Uses about 3% of the power per shave which should last about a month per charge. Like the ability to select the speed of the blades depending on circumstances. I would definitely recommend it!

    Different shaving experience: its so quiet!

    This shaver offers a much more civilized shaving experience than any other shaver I've used in the last 40+ years. Last shaver I had was a Braun that was noisy as heck, and needed those messy and expensive cleaning cartridges. This shaver takes a little getting used to beings its a less violent way to shave, and the rotary blades operate under a better format.
