Really, a review of this cpu? I would say its best feature is speed but really it consumes little power and generates little heat compared to the rest of the core 2 duo's. It has a bus speed of 1066MHz making it useful in many Intel chipset laptops from 2010-2012, approx. I would even say this is faster than many 1st and 2nd gen i3 cpus. Since 2014 the price on ebay has been unbelievably low considering for years this cost over $100 used. So if you have a T6600 or lower, or a low end P8xxx cpu then this makes a great upgrade. Coupled with a SSD drive your 3-4 year old laptop will perform much closer to that rate that we all seek - the instantaneous one.
This is the best bang for the buck for upgrading older laptops with Intel 1066 Mhz chipsets. Goes for half the cost of the T9900 and is only 200 Mhz slower which is neglible, and is one quarter of the cost of the QX9300 and it is 35 watt processor which will run much cooler than the QX9300. Granted the QX9300 is four cores, is unlocked and can be overclocked with Throttle Stop, but it is a 45 watt CPU and will run very hot if you overclock it and use it for intensive extended use such as gaming or video rendering. Also the T9800 can have Super Low Frequency enabled with Throttle Stop, which allows it to idle at 800 Mhz versus 1600 mhz for the QX9300 which does not support SLF. This gives you a cool running, low fan speed, quiet computer for all of your internet and other low power requirement use. Note: It will instantly throttle up for added load when SLF is enabled. Considering that most applications will only use one core and the system will use the other core, the Core 2 Duo 9800 is a great upgradeRead full review
Just got my T9800 chip delivered in less than two weeks. Popped it into my laptop and now it feels like a brand new computer! Removed old T6500 chip, cleaned old thermal paste, installed new chip with new thermal paste, power on and booted up in less than 10 minutes!

Good price to performance ratio. Substantially improved Lenovo SL410 performance replacing 2.2ghz 800FSB, 2mb L2 with this 2.93ghz, 1066fsb, 6 L2 cache. Improved my Windows experience from 5.7 to 6.5, not bad for a core 2 duo laptop. Highly recommend this CPU. The T9600 and P9700 are great as well, I tried them both and the Windows 7 experience index is 6.4, just .1 less than the T9800.
Bought this processor to upgrade the old CPU (T4200) in a Dell Inspiron 1545 - along with adding RAM and SSD - and upgrading from Vista, through Windows 7 and onto Windows 10. This has completely transformed the laptop from old, slow, broken and compromised laptop to a quick and new feeling laptop. A whole new lease of life. I opted for the T9800 over the T9900 as its practically the same performance but half the price.
