    After reading nearly all the reviews I could find, I decided to bite the bullet and buy, what I thought at the time was too expensive, this tool as I was at my wits end as to how I was going to remove the drum off the rear of my 1990 Chevy WT that has been parked for a number of years. I had tried every method I could think of for 3days to no avail, banging it with a bfh, drowning it with PB blaster and banging some more, nothing. This model has no way to back off the adjustment screw nor has the means to use the bolt method of backing it off. Even the neighbors pitched in to try to beat it off. Nothing. When the tool arrived, I was amazed at the shipping materials used to protect something that was made of steel. However, it turned out to be a work of art. Beautifully constructed and ...

    Well built, does the job.

    I bought a vehicle at auction which probably had not been driven since the 80's. Two front drums were locked up. I did the beating the prying etc. I was going to buy a much cheaper puller but after reading the reviews I went with this one. All I can say is WOW. The shoes were so rusted to the drums that the puller bent the shoes as the drums came off. I was a little skeptical as to the strength of this tool, but this thing is awesome and well worth the money. I've been turning wrench for more than 40 years and rarely am I surprised with a tool that works this good. My only cautions are, be patient with it, I had to rotate it as the drums came off, and don't expect it to do a job its clearly not designed for. Properly used it will last a lifetime, you can pass it along to your kids. ...

    Good quality

    This is a well made, quality product. That being said, it will not work without modification on trucks with extended hubs. 5" deep is not enough. If you have the ability, it can be modified to extend the reach, which is what I will do. It is a good base to start with. If you do not need to reach more than 5" deep, it is a quality product and should serve you well for a lifetime.

    OTC drum and rotor puller works!

    Part time mechanic here. We recently purchased this OTC drum brake puller. I recently used it on a 1988 Lincoln Towncar with frozen/rusted solid rear drums. This puller fit around the drum (avoiding the backing plate) perfectly. We pulled off both frozen drums with minimal effort. So far, this item has already paid for itself.

    Drums are no match for the OTC 6980!

    Superb tool! Well-made and engineered to remove stubborn drums. I had labored on a pair of rusted drums. PB Blaster, heat and pounding did not budge them. In desperation, I ordered this tool. It is surprisingly heavy duty. In less than thirty seconds per drum it ripped the stuck drums off the hub without damaging the hub or lug nuts. If the drum MUST come off, I highly recommend this tool.
