    Forget using a notched OEM bolt.

    Notching a stretched, used OEM head bolt into a thread chaser didn't do anything as far as cleaning out block threads as the threads weren't wide enough to grab onto anything after being stretched. This is tool worked perfect and was well worth the money to do the job right.

    Must have tool

    If you are building a LS motor take the time and use this tool to clean the threads inside the block the bolts come with sealant from the factory and over time it hardens inside the block and will need cleaning up take the time and do it or you will not get the new head bolts to torque properly

    Not a Happy Camper!

    I was really expecting a higher quality tool from ARP. Very dissappointing! It Broke on the 4th hole I was chasing. Why? I just removed the studs and was chasing it and it broke 1/2 way down and my block is now at the machine shop trying to get it out. Not a Happy Camper!

    When an old bolt won’t work

    This did the trick for cleaning some rust from the head bolt threads. Using an old head bolt with slots cut in it didn’t work in this case. Great tool. Best price I found as well!
