The construction appears to be quite well. It is a heavy piece of equipment for a can opener. I haven't used it yet so I can't read it as to how it opens a can

The unit works but is a little hard to set up unless you have a flat square surface like a butcher block table or slab wood table , which is something we dont have and so we put a peice of hard wood under the top bracket and then we were able to fasten it to our table which has a beveled edge and would not fasten to it outherwise and after all that it did work quite sattisfactorly and we are happy with it.
