Fantastic Sig 229R Upgrade
I should have brought this SRT kit for my 229R years ago. Not sure why the factory doesn't have the SRT isn't on all 226/227/229. Greatly reduces trigger reset travel to make quicker follow up shots. I am no gunsmith by any stretch of the imagination but am able to do replacement part upgrades on my guns. I watched a couple of Utube videos showing how to install the new kit parts. No real special tools required. Almost anyone handy with their hands can perform this upgrade without taking the gun to a gunsmith and paying to have it done. Although the disclaimer is your factory warranty is voided if you don't have a qualified Sig Armory person do the kit replacement. It really didn't bother me any and I will just put the old parts back in if I should ever have a warranty issue where I would ... I should have brought this SRT kit for my 229R years ago. Good short reset but bad single action
Work as intended, good short reset. But the single action pull is gritty and heavy, far worse than the standard setup that came with my German frame P229. I will not get this for my German made P228, it has great single action pull and all of the ranges near me won't allow rapid firing to benefit from the short reset setup.

Worth the Money
I'm not sure what the difference is between Sig's SRT kit and Armory Craft's or Gray Gun's but I'd be hard pressed to think how it could be almost 2x as good considering those other guys' kits are almost 2x the price. The standard reset isn't long necessarily but it'll sort of "kick" the trigger forward and will force you to take up quite a bit of slack before the you hit the wall. Whereas with the SRT, if you let the trigger out all the way after your shot, there is still take-up however if you play only the reset, there is no forced take up only the wall. It's difficult for me to describe but I'm sure there are numerous videos on You Tube that will accurately depict what I'm saying. Well worth the money and relatively easy to install. Factory original parts for cheap.
The factory kit usually comes with 3 pieces as a kit and one of the pieces is a decocker arm and costs 50 hucks plus shipping. In this kit i received the 2 main components as individually packaged factory original parts and minus the decocker. You dont need the decocker anyway so this option was exactly what I needed without the extra nonsense fir a fraction of the price if the kit. I have installed these kits on all my P2xx style pistols and this is by far the least expensive kit I've bought. best reset kit of any pistol out there. I've measured my @ 2.5mm. the only better kit is the nickel coated sig custom shop or gray guns version. I have tried both and functionally I've found Zero difference. I don't think anyone can tell without looking whether you are using the nickel plated or the sig factory version
