    The product came well packaged, with a small orgasm from the seller that made me and my wife smile, a business card to provide service in case something goes wrong, and even with a small gift - a double bit of Makita! Rule explanatory booklet in Japanese, I am very very very satisfied! Highly recommend to everyone. Shipping (not the seller's fault) is not good, demanding money for handling fees to the tax authority unjustly, and if you do not pay you will not receive the product. The product itself is amazing! Much better than the other screwdrivers I have (I am a technical professional, I have a lot and have seen a lot).     Made in Japan, Great tool.

    Great tool. Slightly smaller and lighter than the US model and still manages to be stronger and quieter. Even the trigger is better. Speed control on this thing is great. Too bad we can only get Chinese made tools here and Makita won't sell made in Japan versions in the US.

    Real Impact

    Powerful drill. Good quality. It’s a Japanese manual so might need to spend a little time to fully understand the the function. Light weight, nice light function, and many modes for drilling different materials purple is a cool colour and easy to find in the shop. More compact then previous models. I say if you don’t have the older TD171 model and only the older ones. Then this TD172 will be impressive.

    Purple Makita better than black or blue!

    I saw this Japanese made Makita on a review by Project Farm, and had to see for myself that it was a slightly better product than the domestic made varieties. It DOES live up to the hype! Slightly better performance, better run time, and cooler colors.
