About this product

Product Information

Dexter Morgan isn't exactly the kind of man you'd bring home to mother. At heart, he's the perfect gentleman: he has a shy girlfriend and seems to lead a quiet, normal life bordering on mundane. Despite the fact that he can't stand the sight of blood and works as a blood-spatter analyst for the Miami police. But Dexter also has a secret: he is an accomplished serial killer. So far, he's killed 36 people and has never been caught because he knows exactly how to hide the evidence. And while that may lead some people to assume he's not such a nice guy, he tempers his insatiable hunger for brutality by only killing the bad guys. However, Dexter's well-organised life is suddenly disrupted when a second, much more visible serial killer appears in Miami. Intrigued that the other killer favours a style similar to his own, Dexter soon realises that the mysterious new arrival is not simply invading his turf but offering him a direct invitation to 'come-out-and-play'...

  • A sick book - avoid in the interests of your mental health

I was told that this was like Silence of the Lambs that I thought was a bit extreme but had a lot of merit as a story. This book can only be called sick. The hero is your friendly, lovable serial killer who has a compulsion to kill that he vents on people who deserve it. He's a psychotic murderer with necro-fascination. Very descriptive of dead bodies and as I recall, means of killing people. Of no literary merit. I read the first chapter then binned it because I don't want this sort of thing in my mind. I repeat, it's sick and I advise others not to read it in the best interests of their mental health. There are some places you shouldn't go willingly, such that if you find you like it, you're in deep trouble. Don't program yourself with this stuff. I have ...

  • An awsome paradoxical history

I started watching the TV series, but since I've seen it losing the idea of Dexter I decided to read the books. Started now with this and I can say that is pretty amazing. I'm Brazilian but decided to read it on English because the translation does not carry the writing style of the author and I like very much the style of Jeff Lindsay, the details, and the way he uses words starting with the same letter in sequence as he does in the title of those books, wich does not happen in the translated version. An awsome reading this is.

  • Funny and well-written kickoff for the series.

Great novel, in excellent condition, at a fantastic price!

  • easy book for an easy reader.

I ordered the book after, of course, watching the TV show, a friend of mine say the books are completely different and so I wanted to chack it out (and to inprove my English level) The book series are very easy, and FUN to read, the price are fair and the itam fast arivel. The only problamatic thing with it was that the english was too easy, ant I've read better literature, but maybe thats just my standarts. anyway, I wormly recommend it.
